The historic house, located at 32v Esplanadnaya Street and listed for sale for $5,3 million, would hardly have attracted the close attention of the publication's journalists. НАШі ГрошіIf it hadn't been revealed that it belonged to the son of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Lutsenko has not only listed this ten-apartment, four-story mansion for sale, but is also willing to rent it out as a private school, office, or clinic. It is said to have a swimming pool and sauna.

Officially, the property is owned by the company Business Center Lotus, registered to Alexander. However, this company has a complicated history: its previous owner was Yuriy Lutsenko's wife, Irina Lutsenko, and before that, his father-in-law, Stepan Narembik. Furthermore, meticulous reporters have established that eight of the ten apartments are owned by Svetlana Ryzhenko, while the remaining two are owned by Vitaly Zagoruiko and Yevgeny Volokhin. It was this trio who created the condominium association in 2009.
Understanding what unites all these people is difficult without a brief historical digression. As it turns out, Svitlana Ryzhenko and Stepan Narembik were co-owners of the company Ukrainian News Communications; shortly after, Narembik's position was taken over by Lutsenko's wife, Irina. In 2006 and 2007, Yuriy Lutsenko actively promoted his family's company within the structure under his control, specifically by transferring all contracts for installing telephones in police departments to it. The matter escalated to scandal: it was during this period that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was charged with corruption, as journalists were inquiring about how the civil servant was able to finance a visit to Crete during his vacation between his two ministerial terms.
Yuriy Lutsenko hastened to justify himself by declaring that he had long ago cancelled his contract with his family's company and claimed he had not orchestrated any corrupt schemes. Svetlana Ryzhenko also dismissed the claims, claiming she purchased the house on Esplanadnaya Street with her own money, earned as an accountant while working at Ukrainian News Communications. However, this isn't her first foray into business: in 2008, she registered two companies, the Personal Communications Center and Infoprostir Pozniaky, which, as it later turned out, were registered at 19 Tupoleva Street, a building that belonged to... that same Lotus Business Center. Unfortunately, journalists were unable to determine the reason why the property was "registered" to Alexander Lutsenko.
