A new petition concerning Vadym Novinsky's citizenship has been registered on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

Petition number 22/019983 was filed by Mykolaiv resident Oleksandr Papir. In it, he asks Petro Poroshenko to initiate a judicial review of the legitimacy of Novinsky's Ukrainian passport.

Papir cites several factors as the reasons for this: the artificial bankruptcy and destruction of the Black Sea Shipyard, the Kherson Shipyard, and the Okean Shipyard. Also, according to the petitioner, Novinsky was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the city of Sevastopol, which is now in annexed Crimea. The Mykolaiv activist believes that it is necessary to prove the illegality of Novinsky's Ukrainian citizenship, which would lead to its revocation.

Novinsky Petits

As is well known, the oligarch received it from Viktor Yanukovych during the latter's presidency. A petition had previously been posted on Poroshenko's website demanding Novinsky's Ukrainian citizenship be stripped, but it was removed without compelling reason, despite having garnered nearly 20,000 signatures out of the required 25,000.
