Tymoshenko sold her place to raider Dubovoy at a high price

In political strategists' slang, a "crook" is a candidate who makes it to the bottom of an electoral list. Yulia Tymoshenko, the mother of Ukrainian corruption, continues to recruit wealthy crooks to her Batkivshchyna party list for the upcoming parliamentary elections. It has emerged that Odesa crook Oleksandr Dubovoy will be one of the names on Tymoshenko's list.

The piquancy of the current situation is that Dubovoy, by all appearances, is a plant. He is a longtime partner of Oleksandr Turchynov in various semi-legal businesses, a companion in corruption and corporate raiding. During Turchynov's tenure as acting president, Dubovoy became something of a wallet for Turchynov, siphoning off much of his budget. Now, Turchynov has fallen foul of Tymoshenko and gone to live in luxury with President Poroshenko. Dubovoy, meanwhile, is linked to Turchynov as a perpetrator of serious crimes and will, of course, inform on Turchynov about everything that happens in Batkivshchyna. There's no doubt that after receiving his mandate, he will defect to one of the "Tushki" factions at the first opportunity.

Turchynov and Dubov didn't skimp on the opportunity to secure a spot on the Batkivshchyna list, because with the latter's criminal record, only parliamentary immunity could save him from prison and the confiscation of his stolen property.

Dubovoy's reputation is dragging the Batkivshchyna party down. Following the high-profile television investigations, everyone knows that Dubovoy is responsible for looting tens of millions of dollars from Ukroboronprom enterprises, while our country is at war. Two of Dubovoy's nephews and his niece's husband orchestrated the robbery of the Kyiv Armored Vehicle Plant and the brazen transfer of state funds to shell companies. As a result, the Ukrainian army lost combat equipment.

Odessans had already witnessed the Turchynov-Dubovyi regime, and they didn't like it. An aircraft repair facility was added to the previously seized and destroyed factories of Kraian, Orion, and Promsvyaz.

Dubovoy's public appearances as a staunch fighter against the old regime are the height of hypocrisy. Yet he neglects to remove his €100 crocodile jacket in front of the camera in parliament. Even Yanukovych wouldn't allow himself such ostentatious luxury! Dubovoy's mansions, incidentally, are in no way inferior to Mezhyhirya.

Today, at enormous expense, every other billboard in the country informs us that Yulia Tymoshenko has carried out a lustration of Batkivshchyna. It's hard to believe, considering she's featured crooks like Dubovoy on the party's electoral list.
