Ukrainian Pravda reports that People's Front MP Tetyana Chornovol is demanding that President Petro Poroshenko strip businessman Vadym Novinsky, a member of parliament from the Opposition Bloc faction, of his Ukrainian citizenship.

Chornovol explains this by saying that Novinskyy failed to fulfill his obligation to renounce his foreign citizenship for two years and did not receive documents from the competent Russian authorities confirming his renunciation of his Russian citizenship. She also noted that Ukrainian law does not permit dual citizenship, and Novinskyy's two years to renounce his other citizenship had already expired. According to Chornovol, the State Migration Service reported this to the Presidential Administration back in August 2014, after which the commission sent the documents back for additional confirmation, despite acknowledging the Migration Service's arguments as valid.

Let us recall that Vadym Novinsky is closely connected by friendship and cooperation with former President Viktor Yanukovych, who granted Ukrainian citizenship to Novinsky on June 1, 2012.
