Over the past year, the family income of the acting head of the Zaporizhzhia region national police, Viktor Olkhovsky, has increased significantly.

This was revealed in an investigation by journalist Gennady Matvienko, published on the website 061.ua.

Viktor Olkhovsky's family income in 2015 was 3,8 million hryvnias. This figure has increased sevenfold compared to 2014. Olkhovsky earned 188,000 hryvnias in his position, and received an additional 17,000 hryvnias in interest.

Larisa Alekseyevna, the wife of the region's chief police officer, earned 387 hryvnias and received 28 hryvnias in interest. Larisa Olkhovskaya's main income came from the sale of property—3,06 million hryvnias. This sum most likely came from the sale of a 231-square-meter apartment in Sevastopol, which was included in last year's declaration but not in the new one.

Viktor Olkhovsky, as before, owns a house and garage in Sevastopol (186 square meters and 18 square meters), as well as an apartment in Kyiv, which has increased in size from 78 to 90 square meters over the past year. Viktor Olkhovsky's family owns a 108 square meter apartment in Zaporizhzhia and a 51 square meter non-residential property in Sevastopol. Before his transfer to Zaporizhzhia, Viktor Olkhovsky lived and worked in Sevastopol. Last year's asset declaration indicated that the mother-in-law of the region's chief police officer resides in Crimea.

The head of the regional National Police has no cars registered to him, and his family owns a 2010 Lexus. Viktor Olkhovskyi's bank deposit has increased by 335 hryvnias compared to last year, now standing at 435.

Viktor Olkhovskyi did not disclose his wife Larisa Alekseyevna's contributions to the authorized capital of companies in his declaration, although, according to the Ukrainian registry, she has investments in the authorized capital of three companies totaling 26,7 hryvnias. She co-owns the Zaporizhzhia firm "Ageya" with her son Vladimir Olkhovskyi, Sergei Nabokov, and Nikolai Dyubov. The agricultural enterprise "Komora" is registered to this company. She is also listed as a co-founder of two Sevastopol firms: she co-owns the firm "Victory Group" with her daughter-in-law (Volodymyr's son's wife), Valeria Olkhovskaya, and the firm "Mriya" with Lidiya Anisimova.

The company "Mriya" was founded back in 1997. After the annexation of Crimea, a copy of this company was created under Russian jurisdiction. According to an extract from the Russian registry, Mriya LLC was registered on October 3, 2014. The founders are still Larisa Olkhovskaya and Lidiya Anisimova. The company's director is Larisa Olkhovskaya. Even before the annexation of Crimea, Mriya LLC owned part of a shopping center in Sevastopol at 39 Geroev Stalingrada Avenue. The current status of this property is unknown.

Apparently, the wife of the head of the National Police in the Zaporizhia region also holds a Russian passport. We obtained this information from the Russian Register of Entrepreneurs. Before the annexation, Larisa Olkhovskaya was an entrepreneur in Ukrainian Crimea, and on December 4, 2014, the so-called Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Leninsky District of Sevastopol registered Larisa Alekseyevna Olkhovskaya as an individual entrepreneur in our eastern and hostile neighbor. Larisa Olkhovskaya's citizenship is listed as "Citizen of the Russian Federation."

On the same day and at the same location, entrepreneur Valeria Vladimirovna Olkhovskaya was registered. That's the name of the wife of the son of Volodymyr Olkhovsky, head of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region. The resulting registration statement indicates that Valeria Olkhovskaya provided a document "certifying the identity of a citizen of the Russian Federation."

It should be noted that the Russian passport received by Crimeans after the annexation is not legitimate in Ukraine, but living in Crimea without one is now virtually impossible.

As we can see, Viktor Olkhovsky's family is trying to have it both ways: running businesses in both Ukraine and occupied Crimea. But the most egregious aspect of this story is the acquisition of Russian citizenship by Olkhovsky's wife, a person directly involved in ensuring security in Zaporizhzhia.
