Media resource 24tv.ua reports that Ukrainian taxpayers paid UAH 91 million last year to judges who did not actually perform their duties.
It is reported that last year, 250 hryvnias were allocated daily from the state budget for idle judges. At the beginning of 2016, there were approximately 500 judges in Ukraine awaiting appointment by the Ukrainian Parliament. Thus, an idle judge received a salary of 500 hryvnias per day from the Ukrainian budget.
There are also judges who have been awaiting appointment for two years. The state paid them 360 hryvnias annually. In total, these judges received 91 million hryvnias in salaries in 2015.
