On June 11-15, Ukrgazvydobuvannya, following tenders, concluded a list of agreements for seismic exploration, geophysical research, and blasting operations worth UAH 299 million. This was reported by the website "Our money«.
The largest sums were shared between the state-owned geophysical enterprise Ukrgeofizika (97,94 million) and the private companies OJSC Vikoil LTD (84,47 million) and OJSC Nadra Geofizika (79,59 million). These companies are also interconnected.
Until the end of 2007, Pavel Bogrash was one of the founders of Vikoil Ltd, and Oleksandr Zeikan served as the company's director. From 2008 to 2010, Zeikan served as CEO of the state-owned Ukrgeofizika, and Bogrash served as his deputy for commercial issues.
Nadra Geofizika OJSC is owned by Pavlo Zagorodnyuk through the Cypriot Nadra Group Public Company Limited. Zagorodnyuk, along with Oleksandr Zeikan, founded Ukrnaftogeofizika (later renamed Nadra Geofizichna Kompaniya) in the late 90s. Zagorodnyuk became a shareholder of this company through Nadra Concern. Zeikan and Zagorodnyuk were partners in Ukrnaftogeofizika until at least 2010.
Currently, all of Vikoil LTD's assets are registered to the Cypriot company U.B. Seismic Limited, whose ultimate beneficiary is listed as Mahmoud Wahwa Farag. The company's director is Sergey Karandyuk, known as the director of the Ukrainian office of the Swiss company Useis SA, which specializes in well drilling and repair.
Viktor Yaremenko and Sergey Apisarev are also listed as the founders of Vikoil LTD. Yaremenko served as director of Ukrnaftogeofizyka when Zeikan was its co-owner. Apisarev headed the now-liquidated Vikoil LLC, which had previously co-owned Vikoil LTD with Bogrash.
Much smaller contracts were awarded to Nadra Promyslova Geofizika LLC (25 million) and Karpatske Upravlinnia Geofizicheskikh Rabot (Carpathian Geophysical Works Administration) CJSC. The former was founded by the Geloni Foundation from Liechtenstein and, according to media reports, is controlled by former MP Ivan Diyak, a former aide to President Yushchenko and deputy head of Naftogaz Ukrainy.
The largest shareholder of the Carpathian Geophysical Works Administration CJSC is Maryna Prokopiv's Ivano-Frankivsk-based Geonadra LLC. Since last year, the board of Ukrtransgaz has been chaired by Ihor Prokopiv, a former member of the Frankivsk City Council and former head of Ivano-Frankivskgaz OJSC. However, there is currently no information regarding his connection to Maryna Prokopiv.
