UniCredit Bank asks the Prosecutor General's Office for protection from judicial arbitrariness.

UniCredit Bank appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office and a number of other authorities with a request to protect the financial institution from judicial arbitrariness.

The letter itself was written by the management of PJSC UkrSocBank, a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank.

The letter states that Viktor Mizyuk, chairman of the Kitsman District Court in Chernivtsi Oblast, is grossly violating procedural and substantive law and is behaving incompetently and provocatively. Specifically, the judge ordered the bank to pay 1 million hryvnias under a deposit agreement that experts found to be counterfeit. Of this amount, only 120,000 hryvnias is the deposit amount. The rest is a penalty. According to the bank, the penalty is eight times the amount of the agreement.

In turn, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Alexei Filatov stated that a judge has the right to his or her own position, except in cases where the decision is unlawful. However, he noted that this is very difficult to prove legally.

Let us recall that the bank's representatives had previously appealed to the state authorities for protection from judicial arbitrariness.
