The Odessa Port Plant (OPP), which is up for sale, has attracted numerous bidders: at least 15 companies are expected to participate in the final bidding, vying for a minority stake. Among the other bidders is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which, according to Igor Bilous, Chairman of the State Property Fund, is prepared to participate in debt financing, assist with the privatization process, and, if successful, acquire the coveted stake.
The appraiser has set the price for 99,6% of Odesa Port Plant shares at 13,175 billion hryvnias, and the auction will take place on August 26. Apparently, the enterprise's value is so high that Mr. Bilous is confident the funds will be transferred to the budget as early as September. It has also been announced that the plant is prohibited from being sold to Russian companies or their intermediaries.
