Energoatom's audits revealed losses of over UAH 500 million. This was announced by former head of the State Financial Inspectorate Mykola Gordiyenko live on the show. Details of the Week.
Gordiyenko clarified that on the day of his resignation, he was conducting an audit of Energoatom and all nuclear power plants. State Financial Inspectorate employees uncovered over 500 million hryvnias in stolen funds. According to the former head of the State Financial Inspectorate, audits of state-owned enterprises uncovered losses totaling over 7 billion hryvnias. This figure, Gordiyenko emphasized, is twice as high as under the Yanukovych government.
As a reminder, on March 4 of this year, during a government meeting, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk dismissed Gordiyenko from his post and ordered an internal investigation into the activities of the State Financial Inspectorate and its dismissed director.
Gordiyenko later accused Arseniy Yatsenyuk's government of covering up corruption schemes.
It is known that the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, Volodymyr Demchyshyn, announced to Forbes magazine that his ministry intends to cut half the workforce of NNEGC Energoatom. NNEGC Energoatom is the operator of all four operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine (Zaprorizhzhia, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and Yuzhnoukrainsk), which currently generate approximately 60% of the country's electricity. It operates 15 power units equipped with pressurized water reactors with a total installed capacity of 13,835 GW.
