In the village of Polyanytsia, Yaremche City Council, near the Bukovel tourist complex, the wooden hotel "Kievan Rus" burned down overnight, 24 people were evacuated.
The State Emergency Service of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported this, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"At 3:42 a.m., a fire broke out at the Kyivska Rus hotel complex in the village of Polyanytsia, Yaremche City Council, near the Bukovel tourist complex. Twenty-four people were evacuated from the hotel complex. Fortunately, no one was injured," the statement reads.
It is known that by the time rescuers arrived, the wooden building was completely engulfed in flames. To extinguish the fire, water had to be brought from a hydrant located 1,5 km from the hotel. The fire was completely extinguished around 9 a.m. Firefighters saved only the complex's boiler room.
The four-star Kyivska Rus Hotel, with 38 rooms, is located near the Bukovel ski resort ski lift. Locals claim it's one of the largest hotels in Bukovel, built by Oleksandr Yanukovych. During the New Year holidays, a standard room here cost around 2 hryvnias per night per person.
