A video has appeared online showing the current situation with liquefied gas prices at Kyiv gas stations.
It's noted that the excise tax on this fuel has nearly tripled since January 1, but the price has remained unchanged at a number of Moscow gas stations. Meanwhile, demand for gas is increasing due to rising gasoline and diesel prices, but only at illegal gas stations. Official gas station chains are raising prices, willy-nilly, and consumers are unwilling to pay more.
According to Serhiy Koretsky, a top manager at one gas station chain, 30% of gas stations were illegal last year. And in Kyiv, more than half of the 500 gas stations operate with some form of violation. The largest such network operates under the "Bars 2000" brand, with approximately 50 stations in the capital.
At such gas stations, they can issue counterfeit receipts. For example, if you purchase 150 hryvnias, a receipt for 250 hryvnias will cost you an extra 3 hryvnias. Interestingly, the legal entity's address knows nothing about Bars.
The company itself was founded five years ago, during the time of Viktor Yanukovych, and is associated with the then government, although this has not been officially confirmed. According to journalists, the "curator" was Andriy Kravets, who then headed the State Administration of the President of Ukraine.
Interestingly, there are other violations at the gas stations. The required documentation for such businesses, such as "customer corner" documents, is missing, and safety standards are also not met—the minimum distance from residential buildings is sometimes 15 meters, while the standard is 50.
In addition, many gas stations do not have a certificate of conformity or its date has expired.
