The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) commented on the situation with Gontareva's son and Delta Bank.

The NBU stated that NABU had not contacted them regarding the investigation of the head of their agency, Valeria Gontareva, and her son's deposit at Delta Bank.

It turned out that the NBU learned about the initiation of criminal proceedings against NBU head Valeria Gontareva from the media.

The National Bank asserts that entering data into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations does not automatically initiate a criminal case. This can be done based on the results of the NABU's investigation, which should identify evidence of a crime, or the lack thereof.

As a reminder, we previously reported that the NBU governor's son withdrew UAH 800 from the liquidated Delta Bank. His wife, however, withdrew significantly more – approximately UAH 12,5 million (given that a 1% commission would amount to UAH 125).

Currently, the bank is under temporary administration, and the liquidation of the banking structure has begun.
