Ukraine to extend martial law for three months: What will change in the country?
Due to the nearly three-month-long war with Russian occupiers, martial law in Ukraine has been extended again. For the first time, it was extended for 90 days—from May 24 to August 23.

During martial law, military command is granted expanded powers. It issues binding orders and directives on matters of ensuring not only defense but also public safety and order.
In addition, according to the law on martial law, the following may operate in Ukraine:
- compulsory labor service,
- alienation of personal property,
- restriction of movement,
- curfew,
- ban on trade in weapons and alcohol,
- ban on mass events and strikes,
- restriction of the operation of communications and the Internet,
- prohibition for conscripts from changing their place of residence.
Ukraine also plans to extend mobilization for another 90 days.
