A singer, a celebrity's mother, a producer, and a TV troll are trying to get into VR.

Zlata Ognevich

Celebrities are storming the Verkhovna Rada. This year, stars are more active than ever in the election campaign. While they previously preferred to cash in on campaign concerts, they're now trying to follow in Taisiya Povaliy's footsteps and crack the parliamentary ticket.

The most unexpected candidate for the people's seat was Zlata Ognevich. The artist herself is reluctant to comment on her upcoming parliamentary future, but Oleh Lyashko, whose party she is running for, is trumpeting:

“She’s young, beautiful, and smart,” Lyashko explains his decision to put Ognevich No. 4 on the list of the Radical Party.

Of course, Zlata Ognevich herself isn't on the list of parliamentary candidates. But Inna Bordyug is—don't confuse her, that's the star's real name.

Another showman, Vadim Lisitsa, producer of the singer Alyosha, is trying to get into the Rada. After talking with those in power, he decided it was time to change the system and registered as a candidate for parliament.

So far, Lisitsa is the only Ukrainian producer who has decided to try his hand at politics. He told "Obozrevatel" how artists have been scammed by the Party of Regions, and the deceptions politicians will tolerate just to profit from a bright star. In short, the showman is running for parliament to protect his own and other people's interests.

The producer is running for the "Ukraine is a United Country" party.

Singer Alina Grossu's mother, Anna Andreyevna, is actively using her daughter in the election campaign. She is also trying to get into the Rada under the banner of the Radical Party.

On the billboards hung by the singer's mother, of course, she is not seen alone, but with her famous daughter.

TV presenter Alexey Durnev also remembered that Verkhovna Rada isn't all about carrots. Ukraine's most famous troll even decided to base his election campaign on jokes.

So, he posted a photo of his candidate's ID card online and wrote:

– Who will decide what if I pass?

He went to the elections as an independent candidate and is clearly counting only on the votes of young people.

So, if these star candidates make it into the Rada, we'll be able to see a very lively parliament: with jokes, songs, and even a famous producer who, we hope, will be able to manage this show with dignity.
