The High Anti-Corruption Court has closed criminal proceedings against MP Yaroslav Dubnevych, who, along with other individuals, is accused of organizing the embezzlement of over UAH 93 million from the Production Support Center branch of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Olesya Chemeris, head of the communications department of the High Anti-Corruption Court, told a Slovo i Delo journalist about this.
"The panel of judges has indeed closed the criminal case. The full text of the decision will be announced on September 13," she said.
As is known, the people accused in the case include MP Dubnevych (for organizing the embezzlement of funds); his former assistant, First Deputy Head of the Production Support Center branch of UZ Eduard Pushkarenko; Chairman of the Board of PJSC Dnepropetrovsk Switch Plant Serhiy Taranenko and his deputy Valeriy Kryachko; former founder of Argo LLC Anton Shevchenko; Director of KRT Corporation LLC Oleh Misiong; Head of the Track Structure Department of the Production Support Center branch of UZ Andriy Stepanenko and two employees of this department, Tatyana Klepak and Oksana Zakharevich.
On October 31, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada upheld all three of the Prosecutor General's motions against Dubnevych. The MP was later served with a notice of suspicion, and the court remanded him in custody with the option of UAH 90 million bail. This money was also paid for his bail. The investigation into Dubnevych's case was concluded.
As a reminder, according to investigators, MP Dubnevych is allegedly the mastermind behind a scheme to embezzle UAH 93,2 million from the Production Support Center branch of PJSC UZ through the delivery of goods at inflated prices between 2015 and 2017. Detectives claim that, as Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport, he allegedly organized and created the conditions for the procurement of track components at UZ company funds, in violation of legal procedures and at inflated prices. Instead of a negotiated procurement process, according to investigators, the MP organized open tenders involving his subsidiaries, Argo LLC and KRT Corporation LLC, resulting in damages totaling UAH 93,28 million.
