Klimenko's party banned by the Supreme Court

Court proceedings to ban the party have been ongoing since 2018, writes ZN.

The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of the Successful Country party, which renamed itself Happy Country, and upheld the ruling. the court's decision banning the party. The court issued the corresponding ruling at a hearing on October 18, сообщает "Rukh Chesno"

The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit to ban the party, whose honorary leader is Oleksandr Klymenko, former Minister of Revenue and Assembly during Viktor Yanukovych's presidency, long before Russia's full-scale invasion. The case has been under consideration since June 2018. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.

The basis for the Justice Ministry's lawsuit was a letter from the Prosecutor General's Office regarding criminal proceedings against the party's political council chair, Natalia Dmitrichenko.

It was Dmitrichenko, who was elected chair of the party's political council at the end of 2016, who coordinated the party's activities and the creation of printed materials.

Chesno notes that her name does not appear in the registry because the Ministry of Justice, citing violations, failed to include the information the party submitted about its new leader. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General's Office suspects Dmitrichenko of distributing materials calling for violent actions to change or overthrow the constitutional order or for the seizure of state power by the organization she leads, according to plaintiff Klimenko.

The lawyers asked the court to overturn the decision to ban the party as unfounded, claiming its leaders had never violated Ukrainian law. However, the Supreme Court dismissed the party's appeal.

As a reminder, the Supreme Court has already permanently banned the Opposition Platform – For Life (OPZZh), the Shariy Party, the Socialist Party, and Natalia Vitrenko's PSPU party. Now, Klymenko's party has also been banned.
