Vitaliy Nestor: Batkivshchyna's schemer seeks gullible Kyiv residents! PART 1

The closer the local elections get, the more nonsense is being fed to the capital's residents every day. Traditionally, all Ukrainian candidates fall into two categories: the first engages in window dressing and promise-making, while the second criticizes and exposes the first, threatening to imprison them. Judging by the diligent efforts of Vitaliy Nestor, the leader of Kyiv's Batkivshchyna party, who is innovatively deceiving gullible Kyiv voters, his political force has chosen the first path. For this purpose, he even created a special project, "New Kyiv Strategy ," which is essentially a typical New Vasyuki scheme.

This project won't address the capital's real problems—the rampant and senseless urban sprawl, the destruction of its green lungs, the dilapidated state of its water pipes and bridges. Instead, it's full of "optimization," "digitalization," "innovation," and other high-flown buzzwords, all of which yield nothing but empty meaning. This isn't surprising, as the current mayoral and Kyiv City Council elections are simply another battle for Kyiv's land and budget, over who will control them, carve them up, cut them up, and build on them. And Nestor himself belongs to one of the groups within Kyiv's "construction mafia," linked to the family of former mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi.

Vitaly Nestor. Sugar Patrons of Alcohol Majority

Nestor Vitaliy Romanovich was born on April 6, 1989, in Kyiv's Troyeshchyna district. His father, Roman Bohdanovich (born 1963), is listed as a "food industry worker," according to his biography. A little googling reveals that he has worked his entire life in the sugar and alcohol sector of the food industry—a veritable goldmine for schemers! In recent years, Roman Bohdanovich has served as director of the Chervonoslobidsky alcohol storage facility, part of the state-owned enterprise Ukrspirt. This explains how their family always had the money—enough for new apartments and country houses, and for their son Vitalik's endless education at various universities.

His mother, Irina Petrovna Nestor (born 1967), according to the same biography, works in the banking sector. Further details reveal that she has been employed at the Ukrainian Processing Centre (UPC) since 2001, where she served for many years as CFO and Deputy Chairman of the Board. She also held a management position at Raiffeisen Bank Aval, but it's important to note that its owner, the Austrian group Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG, has also owned UPC since 2005—meaning Irina Petrovna worked for a related company.

Vitaly Nestor also has a younger sister, Anna Romanovna Nestor (mentioned in her father's asset declaration), about whom no detailed information is available. His wife, Yana Vladimirovna Nestor, whose maiden name was Korovchenko, is the sister of the infamous Sergei Korovchenko, a figure in the Glazyev Tapes, accused of treason, whom we'll discuss later. It is known that in 2016, Yana Vladimirovna worked as an assistant to a judge at the High Specialized Court of Kyiv. She declared three foreign cars (worth up to 2 million hryvnias) and several companies registered in her husband's name, but, for some reason, omitted the fields for real estate and cash.

Until 2000, the Nestor family lived in their apartment in Troyeshchyna (on Liskovskaya Street), which they had received during the Soviet era, but then moved to a more spacious apartment. Since 2003, they have officially owned a 165,9-square-meter apartment in the capital. They also own two houses, one 100 square meters and the other 255 square meters, in Vasylkiv (Iryna Petrovna's native town). According to Skelet.Org , Roman Bohdanovich also owns a 68-square-meter mega-garage in the capital, a house, and two plots of land in the Lviv region.

After completing ninth grade at Gymnasium No. 56 in 2004, Vitaliy Nestor entered the Kyiv Financial and Legal Lyceum at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he studied until 2008. Military service was, of course, out of the question for this strong and energetic young man—he needed to build a career and make money, leaving the poor to defend his homeland! That same year, he enrolled in two universities at once, fortunately for his parents' financial means: the full-time department of the Kyiv National University (law department) and the part-time department of the National University of Food Technologies, where his parents had previously studied (economics department).

As the saying goes, this didn't exactly instill much intelligence. However, it was there that Vitaly Nestor established himself as a social activist and aspiring politician. Or rather, they helped him become one. In 2007, Batkivshchyna created a youth wing, "Batkivshchyna Moloda," headed by Yevhen Suslov, a fellow rich kid like Vitaly Nestor. His father, Ivan Suslov, president of the Skvyra Agro-Industrial Corporation, was friends with Kuchma himself! The town of Skvyra, where this and two dozen other businesses (plus 13 hectares of land) controlled by the Suslovs are located, has long been their family fiefdom . And the family is large: in addition to father and son, there are also uncles and brothers!

Ivan and Evgeny Suslov

It's no surprise that Yevhen Suslov became the commercial director of the Shamrayivka Sugar Factory located there at 19, and the mayor of Skvyra at 21. Then, twice (in the 2006 and 2007 parliamentary elections), the family bought Yevhen a favorable spot on the Batkivshchyna electoral list, and then bought him the position of chairman of the Young Batkivshchyna party. Yulia Tymoshenko , as is well known, was not picky about her sponsors and was happy with anyone who brought in a lot of money.

The Suslovs' business is agricultural, and where there's sugar and grain, there's alcohol! Furthermore, according to Skelet.Org sources , Ivan Suslov has been an old friend of Roman Bohdanovich Nestor's since the 90s and a longtime partner in shady schemes involving raw materials and alcohol. So, when Vitaly Nester, who had just graduated from high school, was ready to grow in his socio-political career, his father placed him in Batkivshchyna Moloda, under the wing of his friend's son. This explains why Vitaly Nestor chose this political force!

As an activist of the Young Batkivshchyna party, and from early 2008 a full member of the adult Batkivshchyna party, Vitaliy Nestor participated in the early local elections in Kyiv (May 25, 2008) as a member of the precinct election commission. As a student at Kyiv National University, he was already awarded the position of Chairman of the Scientific Society of Students and Postgraduates of the university's Faculty of Law in his first year. This isn't surprising, since the faculty was then headed by the notorious Ivan Sergeyevich Gritsenko. He was often caught up in corruption scandals: one involved selling counterfeit university diplomas (one purchased by Andriy Sumtsov, the former Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), another involved the uncovered scam involving the very same Finance and Law Lyceum at Kyiv National University where Vitaliy Nestor had studied. It turns out that this lyceum was created as a private business by Ivan Gritsenko, and its students, subject to additional payment, were guaranteed subsequent admission to the law faculty of KNU.

Ivan Gritsenko, Vitaly Nestor

Ivan Gritsenko is a devout swindler.

So now we understand the "secret of genius" of Vitaly Nestor, who first successfully graduated from the Gritsenko Lyceum, then automatically enrolled in the Gritsenko Faculty, became Chairman of the Scientific Society there, then completed his postgraduate studies there from 2012 to 2015, and defended his PhD there in 2016! The secret is simple: his dad's and mom's dollars!

Because of these numerous and constant scandals, Hrytsenko needed political cover, and Batkivshchyna became it. Its leader, we repeat, was always happy to accept any dirty money. But Hrytsenko didn't just sponsor and support Batkivshchyna; he put students from his faculty at its disposal, allowing his student organizations, including the Scientific Society, to effectively become BYuT cells! Hrytsenko's students, led by Nestor, regularly attended various Batkivshchyna events, including later defending their dean from Azarov's Minister of Education, Dmytro Tabachnyk (in 2010-2011). And their confrontation, we recall, began with Tabachnyk's harsh criticism of Ivan Hrytsenko's textbook, which outlined the genetic and... mental differences between Russians and Ukrainians . But there was, of course, more to the story.

That's how Vitaly Nestor became a "youth leader" and "human rights activist"! These were the first steps of his political career within the ranks of the BYuT.

But what about work? Indeed, Vitaliy Nestor's official biography is full of praise, but almost nothing is said about his work history. His only official position was as a lawyer at the "Ukrainian Processing Center"—that is, at his mother's company! But even there, he didn't last long, going "self-employed" soon after graduating and "running a private legal practice." He also headed several firms (at the document signing level). And really, he'd have to work with such parents and such a brother-in-law!

Patriotic comedy by "separatist" Korovchenko

Sergei Vladimirovich Korovchenko resembles the former "debate fixer" MP Oleksandr Granovsky so much that one wonders if he, too, comes from a respected Jewish family. But that question should probably be directed at such a prominent geneticist and ethnographer as Ivan Gritsenko, from whom Korovchenko also received (or bought) his diplomas. Incidentally, Korovchenko also served in the Crimean government, albeit later than the controversial Andrei Sumtsov.

Sergey Korovchenko

Born in 1979 in the Luhansk region, Korovchenko is practically a fellow countryman of Andriy Portnov , for whom he later worked as an assistant to a people's deputy. It's safe to say they moved to Kyiv at almost the same time: 23-year-old Portnov to work at the State Securities and Stock Market Commission (SSMC), and 17-year-old Korovchenko to enroll at the Kyiv University of Economics (KUE). However, whether they knew each other at the time is unknown.

After KEU, Korovchenko earned several more degrees: from the Institute for Stock Market Development at KEU (2002), from MAUP (2004), and two from the Law School of Kyiv National University (in 2007 and 2009). Whether he actually studied there or simply bought them is a question that, hopefully, will be answered someday. But the fact that Sergei Korovchenko is, to put it mildly, a scoundrel and a scoundrel is something you'll soon discover for yourself.

Korovchenko joined Batkivshchyna through Portnov, and in 2008 he represented the party in the Kyiv local elections, where he may have become closely acquainted with the young activist Vitaly Nestor. So close, in fact, that Nestor's sister, Yana, later became his wife, and Korovchenko himself became his brother-in-law. They also own joint companies: for example, Golden ALE LLC (EDRPOU 40260158), with a registered capital of over 12 million hryvnias, where Nestor is listed as a director. Nestor's aforementioned "individual legal activity" may well be conducted through Korovchenko's law firm (41509983).

When Portov defected from the BYuT to the Party of Regions, Korovchenko joined him, earning him the position of deputy head of the patronage service for the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in late 2011. Within a couple of months, Korovchenko had risen to head of the Main Directorate for Representation in Courts, and in August 2013, he became head of the Main Directorate of Justice of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in Crimea (effectively the autonomy's Minister of Justice). Around this time, Vitaly Nestor acquired a private enterprise in Alushta called "Igarka" (31050177), which operated as a hotel business and remains registered to this day. Incidentally, during Tymoshenko's "imprisonment," Nestor joined the Chernovetskyi Bloc, where he made new friends.
