On December 22, it became known that Parliament voted to strip MP Mykola Martynenko of his mandate. His place in the People's Front faction will be taken by Vadym Podbereznyak, a former member of the Mykolaiv Regional Council and former freelance adviser to the Mykolaiv Governor. Podbereznyak was registered as the 76th candidate on Yatsenyuk's party list before the 8th Verkhovna Rada elections.

Vadym Podbereznyak is known for defecting from Tymoshenko's Batkivshchyna to the People's Front party in 2014. Media reports indicate that after switching political parties, Podbereznyak waged an active PR campaign against his former colleague, Arkadiy Kornatskyi, from Batkivshchyna in the 2014 Verkhovna Rada election. Podbereznyak supported the controversial former director of the Mykolaiv seaport, Vasyl Kapatsyna, in the 2014 parliamentary elections. Local media were shocked by the fact that a year earlier, in 2013, Podbereznyak personally campaigned for Arkadiy Kornatskyi in Pervomaisk.
