Armed management of the Robinson children's camp extorts money and threatens residents of the village.

198127Land grabs, redistributions, and other types of commercial scandals are commonplace, but when commercial conflicts cross moral and ethical boundaries and employ unacceptable means—manipulating children, ATO soldiers, and using forceful seizures—then it's nothing less than the lawlessness we hoped to escape after the Revolution of Dignity, but which we have returned to under the new government in an even more cynical, brazen, lawless, and unpunished form.

Dirty political tactics and high-profile commercial scandals have merged into a single impulse, and under the guise of noble goals, they are defending private interests using effective tools—ATO heroes and children.

The leadership of the Iskra children's club, which has been organizing the Robinson tent camp near Koncha-Zaspa on Olga Island for 22 years, has become a participant and instrument in such private commercial squabbles.

On the eve of summer vacation and the closing of the children's recreation season, the camp's management, accompanied by unknown armed men in camouflage uniforms who identified themselves as ATO soldiers but refused to provide identification, and anonymous representatives of Channel 24 (who also, for some reason, refused to show press credentials, even though the media is held in high esteem), decided to engage in a dispute with local residents over the placement of fences.

The official explanation: inconvenient access to the water (there are two). For the past 22 years (and still is), the camp has been located on the island, and the camp management has been fine with it. The children have been enjoying the water all season, swimming and boating, posting videos of their experiences on their social media pages (https://www.facebook.com/RobinzonCamp/).

The aforementioned group, barbarically cutting through thickets of grass, breaking fences and private buildings, made their way to the pond, even though children were walking along a nearby path to the same pond. Apparently, these assembled citizens aren't looking for the easy way out; they're looking for adventure. It's worth considering who we're trusting our children with!

From 9 a.m. until lunchtime (until the police arrived), armed participants in the “peaceful” protest, as they call themselves, shot and threatened residents with weapons, tore down fences and smashed windows in buildings.

True, calling the police didn't resolve the situation (the police were afraid to intervene), but it did prompt an offer from one of the so-called leaders of the Iskra children's club that all issues regarding a peaceful resolution of the "problems" could be resolved for a certain reward, otherwise they would return in a more radical mood.

Investigative bodies and other competent authorities will determine the motives behind the Iskra children's club's corporate raids and commercial scandals, and who prompted them to do so.

Now, the management of the children's club and the organizers of the Robinson children's camp need to consider their reputation and professional competence. They should also consider how they will resolve conflicts with the parents of children who attended the camp and were extremely dissatisfied with the camp's sanitary and hygienic conditions, the poor quality of the food, and the inappropriate behavior of the counselors (including drinking alcohol, using drugs, and smoking cigarettes on the camp grounds). They should also address issues with other authorities regarding tax evasion—the camp is considered a non-profit organization, but has established a lucrative business with a fixed fee—and the squatting of the land, as the management has yet to find a lease agreement. Apparently, the successful experience has whetted their appetites and greed!

It's a shame that the reputations of the ATO soldiers themselves are being used as puppets for private commercial interests, undermining their authority and the trust of citizens who supported them while they were THERE and didn't receive adequate government support.
