The Anti-Corruption Court has completed its trial against a former official of a state-owned plant and the director of a private firm.

The High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced Igor Goloborodko, former deputy general director of the state-owned enterprise VostokGOK, to nine years in prison, and his accomplice, Igor Veduta, director of the Eco-Service trading house, to eight years in prison. They are wanted by the police.

The panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court made this decision on November 2, reports “Word and deed».

«Find Igor Goloborodko guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code... Find Igor Veduta guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code"", the presiding judge announced.

The High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced Goloborodko to nine years in prison, a ban on holding certain positions for three years, and confiscation of all property. Veduta was sentenced to eight years in prison and confiscation of all property.

The judges also applied a special confiscation order for up to UAH 20,85 million, which TD Eco-Service received from the State Enterprise Vostok GOK.

The decision was made by a panel of judges consisting of presiding judge Yevgeny Kruk, judges Oleksiy Kravchuk, and judges Inna Bilous. The verdict has not yet entered into force and can be appealed within 30 days to the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

According to the prosecution, between February and May 2015, the former deputy general director of the state-owned Vostok GOK entered into supplemental agreements with the director of Eco-Service Trading House LLC to the contract for the purchase of minerals (sulfur) for the state-owned enterprise, which illegally increased prices by 31%, and subsequently by 57%. Moreover, the sulfur purchase price increased in stages, as at least three intermediary companies were involved in each sale. This scheme resulted in damages to the state-owned enterprise amounting to UAH 24,5 million.

Based on materials collected by detectives during the pre-trial investigation, the NABU succeeded in annulling the agreements for the purchase of sulfur by VostokGOK at inflated prices. The court's decision has entered into legal force, thus creating the basis for recovering UAH 25,4 million in unjustified overpayments from the private company to VostokGOK.

Later, the trial was in absentia. arrested Director of TD "Eco-Service" Veduta. Also a judge in absentia took into custody ex-deputy general director of VostGOK Goloborodko.
