The last scandal of the outgoing year hits Kherson's elite
Towards the end of the final year, two prominent representatives of the Kherson elite "delighted" their fellow countrymen with a public brawl in an expensive cafe near the regional music and drama theater.
The participants were a major businessman, Alexei Tyshkevich (as the defender), and a former head of one of the regional courts (as the attacker).
Alexey Tyshkevich personally told the author of these lines how it all happened: "In the evening, I came to the cafe for a cup of ginger tea. I was sitting on the terrace, waiting for my order, when suddenly the ex-judge and his wife walked in and sat down at the table across from me.
I, like a well-mannered person, greet him, and my vis-à-vis suddenly jumps up from his seat and spits at me. I ask the logical question in such a situation: "Are you out of your mind?" In response, the retired official of Themis attacks me with his fists, aiming for my face.
He scratched my forehead and bruised my arm, which I used to defend myself—the wife of her rowdy husband barely managed to pull him away. He struggled and screamed, "I'll kill you! You've messed with the cops, so I'll destroy you and the cops," recalls the injured businessman and chairman of the all-Ukrainian organization "Public Control."
That same day, I went to the hospital, had an X-ray, and received a certificate confirming my injuries. Then I consulted with my lawyer and filed a police report about the assault and death threats."
An uninformed person might logically wonder why the former judge suddenly became so aggressive. But the Kherson elite understands everything...
It was Aleksey Tyshkevich who once filed a lawsuit in court, which was then chaired by his abuser, seeking to invalidate the purchase and sale of the Zolotaya Niva boarding house in the resort village of Zhelezny Port.
According to investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, the judge demanded $100,000 from the plaintiff's lawyer to rule in his favor. The lawyer allegedly reported the bribery to law enforcement, and the crime was recorded when the money was handed over.
By a strange coincidence, this broadcast took place in the very café where the beaten businessman and public figure had stopped in to enjoy ginger tea. The judge lost his job, but he was not found guilty of bribery and was not sent to prison, retaining the right to stroll around the city and frequent upscale establishments.
But he probably didn't expect to encounter a living reminder of the collapse of his previously successful career. That's probably why he lost his nerve.
