A Kherson tax investigator was caught taking a $6000 bribe.

According to the SBU press center, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers detained an investigator from the Main Directorate of the Fiscal Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region red-handed while accepting a $6000 bribe.

An official promised a local businessman to drop the criminal case against his company. To avoid the risk of being caught, the bribe-taker devised a criminal scheme, using a middleman—a private lawyer—through whom he was supposed to receive the money.

The perpetrator was detained during the special operation. He has now been charged with a crime under Part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an unlawful benefit).
The investigation is ongoing.
