The armed attack on the HIMAKS plant (Kryukovshchyna village, Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky district), which took place last night, was thwarted thanks to the coordinated efforts of 80 security guards from Varta-1 and a significantly smaller number of National Police officers. Remarkably, local residents reported the planned raid long before the attack, but law enforcement officers, for some reason, failed to respond. After the "military" actions ceased, the body of a man (one of the attackers) was found under a fence, dead from a gunshot wound. His identity is being investigated.
Deputy Head of the National Police Konstantin Bushuev reported details of the incident: "Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that more than 200 people [attackers] were present around the premises of the HIMAKS enterprise, which specializes in alcohol products. After shots were fired, these individuals began fleeing the scene. Police also detained four individuals who attempted to enter the premises."
It also became known from Bushuev's interview that a people's deputy from the Radical Party was among those interviewed. Dmitry LinkoHowever, by this point the latter had already voiced his version of what happened on Facebook:
"Titushki from Yanukovych's gang (Alexei Chebotarev), who fled to Moscow, carried out an armed attack on a business in Kryukovshchyna. All night long, they gathered titushki in the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky district and terrorized the business. In the morning, my assistants, contacted by Kryukovshchyna residents, informed me that several hundred armed titushki were operating in the village and bloodshed was possible.
I immediately went to the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky police station and notified the senior duty officer (Oleksandr Sak) of the critical situation, but his response was sluggish—only two squads were dispatched. A few minutes later, over two hundred armed titushki (thugs) began attacking the business. My attempts, along with those of the police, to stop and persuade the titushki to stop were futile. The attackers, using weapons, began their assault. Meanwhile, I was trying to persuade duty officer Sak to call for special forces reinforcements on the phone. The attackers weren't afraid to threaten the police and me personally with weapons. Miraculously, several police units and I managed to escape."
