The Commercial Court terminated the agreement under which Kurchenko purchased the Metalist stadium.

The Kharkiv Regional Commercial Court terminated the purchase and sale agreement under which Ukrainian oligarch Serhiy Kurchenko acquired Kharkiv's Metalist Stadium. This was announced by the court's press service on Wednesday, September 17.

"Terminate Agreement No. 90-K for the sale and purchase of a single property complex (group G) dated August 30, 2013... concluded between the territorial communities of villages, towns, and cities of the Kharkiv region, represented by the Kharkiv Regional Council, and the Metalist Stadium Sports Complex Limited Liability Company," the court ruling states, NBN reports.

As a reminder, the Metalist Regional Sports Complex municipal enterprise in Kharkiv was sold for UAH 674,522,000 to VETEK Group of Companies, owned by businessman Serhiy Kurchenko, who is the president of FC Metalist.

On March 11, Kharkiv Regional Council Chairman Serhiy Chernov announced that the regional council could return the Metalist Stadium to municipal ownership, as its current owner, Serhiy Kurchenko, was failing to make payments in accordance with the stadium sale agreement.

We remind you that at the end of March, Sergei Kurchenko was put on the wanted list on suspicion of embezzlement of funds from Ukrgazvydobuvannya OJSC.
