Yatsenyuk explained why Ukrnafta's leadership wasn't replaced – Tymoshenko is to blame.

Senya and YuliaUkrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk explained why Ukrnafta's leadership has not yet been replaced. He made the announcement on a television channel.

Yatsenyuk stated that in 2009, then-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko entered into an agreement with Ukrnafta stipulating that a leadership change could not be initiated by Kyiv, otherwise it would result in a $5 billion lawsuit in a London court. Tymoshenko, for her part, stated that her party was fighting for lower energy tariffs, which was why attacks were being launched against the political powerhouse in an attempt to discredit it. However, she did not address any substantive issues.

The former prime minister also advised Yatsenyuk to fight clans rather than his coalition comrades and noted that the gas supply agreement she signed would ensure gas prices of $190 and below.

Let's remember that this situation has been dragging on for several years now, with Tymoshenko crediting the 2009 agreement, while the current government criticizes it. Meanwhile, gas prices for households are rising.

Incidentally, the 2009 agreement allowed Kolomoisky to be stripped of control over Ukrnafta. This was followed by a scandal involving a change in the company's management.
