At a Cabinet meeting today, Deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vadim Ulida was dismissed for signing a permit for the holding company Energomerezha to import electricity from Russia. The corresponding order was signed on November 14, 2014.

As Minister Ostap Semerak explained, Ulida's dismissal is directly related to the Ministry of Energy's decision to approve the import of electricity from the Russian Federation by the company Energomerezha.

It has been announced that the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine has approved applications from DTEK and Energomerezha to import electricity from Russia to ensure the reliable operation of the Unified Energy System of Ukraine.

But what's most interesting is that until mid-2014, Energomerezha was known as Energomerezhainvest. At the end of July, the company received a five-year electricity supply license, but three months later, the license was reissued to Elektromerezha due to a "change in the legal entity's name and location." In 2012-2013, the company conducted no financial or economic activity. Until April 2014, Petr Prodan, brother of the current Minister of Energy, Yuri Prodan, was a member of its supervisory board.

The Unified State Register of Legal Entities indicates that Elektromerezha's primary activity is the transportation and supply of hot water, air conditioning, and steam to consumers.
