Is Gontareva's deputy Pisaruk moonlighting as a raider?

Pisaruk's rallyWe've become accustomed to protests by bank depositors whose money has been lost in the swamp of unprofessionalism and outright banditry of the current leadership of the National Bank of Ukraine. But we've never seen bank employees holding placards before.

On February 10, employees of ProfinBank PJSC picketed a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance and Banking. They want to somehow reach out to Valeria Gontareva, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), who is covering up her deputy, Oleksandr Pysaruk's, corporate raid on ProfinBank, which, surprisingly for many, had been operating successfully even during these difficult times.

Apparently, this backfired. Mr. Pisaruk decided to seize such a lucrative piece of the pie in a completely criminal manner, and he figured he could get away with it because Gontareva herself was protecting him. Today, Parliament elected a new Prosecutor General, Shokin, whose integrity will be tested by holding high-ranking officials accountable and returning the bank to its rightful owner.
