A Pinchuk man has been appointed as Abromavicius' deputy.

Maxim Nefedov, managing partner of Pinchuk's firm, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade under Aivaras Abromavicius. This order was adopted at yesterday's Cabinet meeting.

 

Maxim Nefedov is only 30 years old and, prior to his appointment to the government, served as a managing partner at ICON Private Equity. Previously, Mr. Nefedov worked at Golden Gate Business and was also the director of the investment banking department at Dragon Capital.

 

IconPrivateEquity is one of the largest private equity firms in Russia and the CIS, with over $1 billion in capital. The fund invests in high-growth companies in finance, telecommunications, media, and high technology. IconPrivateEquity is associated with Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk.

 

Earlier, according to Aivaras Abromavicius, head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, three new deputy ministers of economic development and trade would be appointed within the next two weeks. On February 4, Ruslan Korzh was appointed deputy minister, responsible for state property management and industrial policy. Additionally, Lviv native and Harvard graduate Oleksandr Borovik may be appointed as another deputy minister.
