Guzyr's son, registered to a "fake" Land Cruiser, was stolen as soon as journalists became interested. Stolyarchuk took over this "complex operation" for himself.

At the direction of Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Stolyarchuk, six officers from the Prosecutor General's Office's Main Investigative Department are investigating the theft of a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the son of former First Deputy Prosecutor General Volodymyr Guzyr, who resigned on July 28 following a series of scandals. Specifically, on July 23, at approximately 4:15 a.m., in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, on Vasylkivska Street, a Land Cruiser with license plates ВХ1010АТ was stolen from Dmytro Guzyr, an employee of the Prosecutor General's Office's Department for International Legal Cooperation. That same day, police opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal seizure of a vehicle committed by a group of persons).

However, Stolyarchuk, without providing any justification, ordered the case to be confiscated from the police and transferred to the Main Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General's Office for further investigation.

Also on the same day, Stolyarchuk appointed three investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) - Dmitry Sus, Alexander Zubtsov, and Sergei Pavlovsky - and three prosecutors - Yaroslav Tishchenko, Vyacheslav Plakhotnik, and Andriy Marushchak - to investigate the theft of Guzyr's son's car.

In his ruling on determining jurisdiction, Stolyarchuk notes that investigators and prosecutors from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine must investigate the car theft because it is a very complex criminal case.

"At the same time, given the complexity of the criminal proceedings, it is necessary to ensure an effective pre-trial investigation," states Stolyarchuk's ruling of July 23, 2015. Furthermore, the fourth paragraph of the ruling states: "The ruling is not subject to appeal."

It's worth noting that, according to Vladimir Guzyr's declaration, the 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser ВХ1010АТ belongs to his son, Dmitry. However, according to the decree signed by Stolyarchuk, the stolen car was registered to a certain P.I. Arsenyuk.
