The Sokol special forces are preparing for an assault: Aidar militants seized RusAl's Zaporizhzhia aluminum plant overnight.

Aidar militants entered the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Aluminum Plant (ZALK) and barricaded themselves there.

As a law enforcement source told the website "Russian Spring," fighters from the Aidar Battalion captured the ZALK on the night of November 8-9 and are still there.

Law enforcement is currently negotiating with the Aidar fighters to demand they vacate the seized plant. The Sokol special forces unit is on site. If the Aidar fighters barricaded in the plant refuse to vacate voluntarily, the police will storm it.

Earlier, Russkaya Vesna reported that Kyiv prosecutor Sergei Yuldashev openly stated that the Aidar fighters were unpredictable and capable of carrying out a military coup.

As a reminder, ZALK is part of a vast metallurgical chain extending from Russia. In late August 2014, due to events in the east and tense relations between Ukraine and Russia, the Russian Aluminum (RusAl) united company ceased production of aluminum rod at the group's Zaporizhzhia plant.

It's worth noting that of the 230 people working on the line, after the layoffs, approximately 70 were expected to remain, servicing the mothballed production complex, as well as warehouse and administrative premises.
