Zhevago and Akhmetov reduced tax payments to the budget

Zhevago AkhmetovMining and processing plants controlled by Kostiantyn Zhevago and Rinat Akhmetov reduced their tax payments to the Ukrainian state budget to a minimum in the first half of this year, according to the Ukrainian Press publication, which also lists the country's 100 largest taxpayers.

It is known that last year Zhevago's Ferrexpo and Akhmetov's Metinvest were the largest taxpayers to the Ukrainian budget.

In the first half of 2015, Akhmetov's mining and processing plants paid the following taxes to the budget: Severny GOK — 2,7 million UAH (in the same period of 2014 — 1235,6 million UAH), Inhulets GOK — 200,000 UAH (last year the budget received 1720,2 million UAH), Central GOK — this year transferred 140,3 million UAH to the state budget (last year — 251 million UAH). The situation is similar with Zhevago Mining and Processing Plant: Poltava GOK paid 88,9 million UAH to the budget in the first half of this year (in the first half of 2014, this amount was 390,2 million UAH).

According to the statistics, only two companies in the mining and metallurgical complex—Yuzhny Mining and Processing Plant (Yuzhny GOK) and ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih—continue to contribute to Ukraine's budget. In the first half of this year, Yuzhny GOK paid UAH 848,9 million in taxes, while ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih paid UAH 1846,3 million.
