The Anti-Corruption Court reviewed and partially granted a NABU detective's motion to impose a preventive measure against a former State Border Guard Service official.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has ordered bail of UAH 173670 for Oleksandr Bigun, former head of the State Border Service's first separate capital construction department. The NABU and SAP, along with former head of the State Border Service Petro Tsyhykal, suspect Bigun of embezzling UAH 10,68 million.

The High Anti-Corruption Court made this decision on November 4, reports “Word and deed».

The decision itself does not indicate the suspect's name, however, according to Slovo i Delo, it is Bigun who is being discussed.

"The motion is granted in part. The suspect (Oleksandr Bigun – ed.) is placed on bail in the amount of 70 minimum living wages for able-bodied individuals, which is 173,670 hryvnias," the ruling states.

The suspect was also ordered to comply with the following obligations: appear when requested; not leave Kyiv without permission; report any changes to his place of residence; refrain from communicating with other suspects in the criminal proceedings, as well as witnesses; hand over his passport for safekeeping; and wear an electronic bracelet.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court granted bail to the former head of the State Border Service, Petr Tsigikalu.

Let us remind you that NABU and SAP reported suspicionand the former head of the State Border Guard Service, Tsygikal, a former State Border Guard Service official, and the director of a private development company were accused of embezzling UAH 10,68 million. The investigation established that the private company was supposed to build and hand over 66 apartments in central Lviv in the first half of 2019 to the State Border Guard Service for subsequent housing of border guards and their families. At the same time, the State Border Guard Service received 53 apartments in the suburbs of Lviv, the total value of which, according to an expert assessment, is UAH 10,68 million less than the real estate in Lviv.

Despite having signed contracts with the State Border Service of Ukraine (GBSU), the developer sold apartments in Lviv, which were actually intended for border guards, to outside buyers. Therefore, the developer proposed a "replacement" scheme to the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, who accepted. The investigation has evidence that GBSU officials acted in collusion with the director of a private company, knowing from the outset that this arrangement would be disadvantageous to the State Border Service.
