It defies common sense. The Kyiv prosecutor's office is calling on Klitschko to refuse funding for the Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge.

The Kyiv prosecutor's office is asking Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko to cancel the decision to allocate UAH 183 million for the completion of the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge crossing and to use these funds for the capital's needs during the war, writes NV.

Interfax-Ukraine reports this.

In an appeal from the head of the Kyiv prosecutor's office, Oleh Kiper, to the Kyiv mayor, it was stated that on October 11, the Kyiv City Council decided to allocate 183 million hryvnias from the city budget for the construction of the Podilskyi-Voskresenskyi bridge crossing.

Kiper's statement notes that construction work on the bridge began in 1993 and remains unfinished. During this time, the estimated cost of construction has increased repeatedly, reaching UAH 19,9 billion a year ago.

Kiper wrote that "the decision to allocate significant funds to complete the bridge, which has been under construction for almost 30 years, is contrary to common sense and does not contribute to the rational use of city budget funds."

Kiper also calls on the capital's mayor to take a more balanced approach to distributing capital budget funds in the future, taking into account the realities that are developing today.

At the same time, Ukravtodor officially approached Vitali Klitschko with a proposal to take over the unfinished Podilsko-Voskresenskyi Bridge to expedite its construction and commissioning. The state-owned company is ready take on the balance sheet the entire complex, including exits and interchanges, carry out design adjustments, an examination, and begin work.

The mayor of Kyiv opposed the idea, noting that transferring the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge crossing to Ukravtodor would "significantly delay the completion of the bridge crossing, as it would require going through bureaucratic procedures."
