The head of the OAS, Judge Pavel Vovk, appeared at a High Anti-Corruption Court hearing for the first time: Vovk ignored the court seven times.
At the last hearing, the court ruled to forcibly bring the defendants to trial, writes ZN.
Today at 9:15 am the next hearing of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine began on the case “OASK filmsAt the last hearing, the court ordered the forcible appearance of the defendants who had avoided previous court hearings. The first of the "evaders" to arrive at the start of the hearing was Judge Igor Kachur. His lawyer, as expected, filed a motion to challenge one of the judges. He was supported by fellow defendants (also judges of the OAC) Bohdan Sanin and Volodymyr Keleberd. The judges retired to the deliberation room to consider the challenge. During the break, defendants Pavel Vovk and Igor Pogrebnichenko, who had not previously attended the hearings, appeared. Their colleague from the OAC, Judge Yevgeny Ablov, also appeared. Everyone appeared except the defendant, Judge Alexey Ogurtsov. His lawyer stated that he was absent for a valid reason and would provide documents.
It's now safe to say that progress has been made in the long-suffering "Vovk tapes" trial, as a hearing schedule has been established and the defendants have begun to appear in the courtroom for the first time.

As a reminder, Judge Pavlo Vovk ignored court hearings seven times, and the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) disqualified judges five times. We hope that this unprecedented delay in the case is coming to an end, but ZN.UA will continue to closely monitor the proceedings.
Furthermore, we draw attention to the publication last night of an investigation by journalists from "Schemes" into an attempt to possibly legitimize Viktor Yanukovych as President of Ukraine on the eve of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops in January 2019. This legitimization was supposed to take place through a ruling by the Kyiv District Administrative Court following the review of two lawsuits filed by the fugitive president.
